Where We Are
Climate:
Despite being located in the tropics and in a desert, Lima has a mild climate. Summer goes from December through April, with average temperatures around 24°C (75 °F) and cloud free skies. Winter goes from June through October, and is characterized by gray skies, breezy conditions, very high humidity and temperatures around 16°C (61 °F). High humidity produces a low cloud deck during the winter, with occasional morning drizzle and long stretches of overcast skies.

Parque Central and Parque Kennedy are two park units located at the heart of the Miraflores district. Both parks unite into one big park, colloquially called Parque Kennedy.
Its origin traces back to the beginning of the 20th century, when it consisted in a small single park called Parque Central. In the 40s the park was remodeled, expanded and divided, giving birth to what is known today as Parque Kennedy, a green area of around 22 000 square meters (236 806 square feet).
Parque Kennedy sits to the south of Parque Central and holds a souvenir market as well as a children’s playground. Parque Central is separated from Parque Kennedy by a small pedestrian street where artists sell their work and which is the starting point of the red Miraflores tour bus, Mirabus. Parque Central also features a small amphitheater where musicians perform for free. On the eastern side of Parque Kennedy are located the church Virgen Milagrosa and the City Hall of Miraflores. Both parks are surrounded by busy streets full of shops, cafés and restaurants. On weekends, Parque Central and Parque Kennedy are the place for small fairs, crafts markets, family and cultural events. It is also home to a colony of more than 160 cats, both feral and domestic.
